PRINT18 is over:
The trade fair in retrospect

From 30 September to 2 October, PRINT18 took place in Chicago. It was the second time CloudLab participated, and compared to last year we notched up even more in terms of our booth size and presence!

PRINT is one of the most innovative and exciting fairs of the printing industry worldwide, so of course the CloudLab team had to be there as well. On a booth space of almost 60 m² – no other web to print provider had a comparably large booth – and using six demo stations and a theater, we demonstrated to the international audience what our software and our product developments are capable of. The considerable rush of visitors and the conversations we had did once again prove that with our open and very flexible solution we have our finger firmly on the pulse of time.

The likable colleagues of paid a small visit to our booth as well and took the opportunity to have our CEO Marc Horriar tell a little bit about the history of CloudLab. The result can be found here.

New features of the printQ version 4.0

The trade fair visitors were presented with the latest version of our modular web to print solution in the cloud, printQ. printQ delivers a unique end-to-end solution for the online distribution of print products based on the e-commerce system Magento.

Here’s a selection of the new functions:

  • Provision of an InDesign plug-in for improved usability testing of templates created there
  • PDF layouts can now be uploaded in the editor
  • Significant improvements to the responsive display in general
  • Our 3D packaging design extension has been integrated into the standard (in conjunction with the Ultimate license)


3D Packaging Design

Packaging is an important topic in the USA as well. Consequently, our powerful 3D packaging design extension, just recently honored with the InterTech™ Technology Award 2018 and pronounced “Red Hot Technology” of the trade fair, was met with extraordinarily great interest. USA location to be expanded

Our US division, which opened in January 2017, has meanwhile successfully positioned itself in the market and serves customers in the USA and Canada as well as in Central and South America.
Especially in the USA, there is huge demand for a flexible software solution like printQ and the associated market potential is enormous, as currently no comparable product is available on the market. This is just one of the many reasons why we are currently expanding our sales team in the USA and have two vacancies to be filled.


Our summary of the PRINT18

We were able to establish many exciting contacts and attract more than 200 new prospective customers, including international companies from Russia, South America, India, China, Canada and of course the USA. We would like to thank all visitors, partners and customers for the successful event.
